- Fence lines and property edges: everything growing in and along the fence removed, with stumps ground where the grinder can reach.

How a Clearing Job Works
- Walk the siteWe walk the property with you and agree which trees and plants stay and which go.
- Protect the propertyGround mats where equipment crosses the lawn, and care around fences, structures and the trees you keep.
- ClearBrush and unwanted trees are cut and removed, or mulched in place where forestry mulching suits the site.
- Chip, grind and haulDebris is chipped and hauled away. Stumps can be ground 4–12 inches below grade, with grindings hauled if you choose.

Cleared everything growing inside the back and side fence lines, ground stumps as close to the chain-link fence as the grinder could reach, ground an old stump in the yard and hauled away all debris and grindings.

Clearing Equipment
The right machine depends on the site. After the evaluation we recommend the method that fits your lot, from forestry mulching to cutting, chipping and haul-away.

Grinds brush and small trees into mulch in place.
Skid steer
Moves brush, logs and debris on sites with suitable access.
Chipper & dump truck
Brush is chipped on site and hauled away.
Stump grinder
Grinds stumps below grade so the area can be replanted or sodded.
Larger trees in the clearing area are removed the same way as our tree removals, including our grapple saw crane when it lowers risk.
What Affects the Price
Every clearing job is priced after a walk-through, with a written estimate. The main factors:
- Size and density of the area, and how much is being removed versus kept
- Access for equipment: gates, fences, slopes and soft ground
- Trees in the mix: how many, how large and how close to structures
- Stumps and haul-away: whether stumps are ground and whether grindings and debris leave the site

Land Clearing FAQs
Can you keep some trees and clear the rest?
Yes. Most of our clearing is selective. We walk the site with you first, agree which trees stay, and work around them.
Do you haul everything away?
Yes. Brush is chipped and debris is hauled away. Stump grindings can be left on site or hauled away; your estimate will show which.
Will you grind the stumps?
We can. Stumps are usually ground 4–12 inches below grade, depending on site conditions. See stump grinding.
Do you offer forestry mulching?
Yes, on suitable sites. Not every project is a fit for forestry mulching or specialized lot clearing: it depends on the site, access, ground conditions and what you want to keep. We evaluate the site first and recommend mulching, hand clearing or a combination in your written estimate.
Do I need a permit?
Land clearing requirements depend on the property’s location, the proposed work and its intended use. Depending on the project, tree removal, land development, environmental or other approvals may be required. Kevin’s Tree Service can help identify tree-related permit requirements and assist with tree removal permit applications when applicable. Additional approvals may need to be handled by the property owner or their development professionals.
Do you clear large acreage or new-construction sites?
Most of our clearing work is on residential yards, fence lines and lots. Larger sites are evaluated individually: tell us about yours and we will let you know at the estimate whether it is a good fit.
