- Restoration pruning on large live oaks
Live oaks over the back yard had broken limbs and heavy ends, and two front canopies hung over the driveway and toward the house. From the lift we did restoration pruning on the rear oaks, repairing the breaks, reducing weight and removing deadwood 3 inches and larger, and cleaned the deadwood out of the front canopies.

Four trees in the backyard had died. We brought the lift in through the double gate on the driveway, removed all four, ground the stumps and hauled the grindings, then took deadwood and hanging limbs off the back of the roof.

Five cherry laurels in the back corner were growing toward the screened lanai, and a neighbor’s camphor hung over the property line. From the lift we removed the cherry laurels, cut the camphor back to the fence line and gave the enclosure 6 ft of clearance so it could be rescreened.

A 39-inch live oak in the front yard needed its canopy raised and its weight balanced, and a river birch stood against the back fence where equipment couldn’t reach. From the lift we raised and balanced the oak and removed deadwood. A climber took the birch down and the crew carried the wood out to our grapple truck.

Can you work on a large wooded lot?
Yes. We plan access across the property, use track mats to protect the lawn where equipment has to travel, and can clear brush piles and fallen wood along with the tree work.
How often should oaks in Apopka be trimmed?
Mature live oaks often do well on a 2–3 year pruning cycle. Laurel oaks, which are shorter-lived and more prone to decay, and any tree hanging over a roof may need a look more often.
What’s included in your cleanup?
