- Whole-property cleanup: oaks, palms and the roofline
Limbs were over the roof, the garage and the pool cage, three front oaks hung low over the road, and branches crowded the Bismarck palms by the lanai. With mats down to protect the lawn, we trimmed the palms, raised the front oaks over the road, cleared everything off the roof and cage, and removed a lemon tree and a palm.

A laurel oak in front of the house had deadwood and limbs growing downward, and two old stumps sat in the back yard. From the lift we gave the oak a medium prune and thin, removed deadwood 2 inches and larger and balanced the canopy, then ground both stumps and hauled the grindings.

An oak beside the driveway had long, low limbs over the drive, the road and the neighbor’s house, and a front oak had a heavy limb over the walkway. From the lift we raised and selectively thinned the canopy, shortened the long limbs and took weight off the limb over the walkway.

Two 25 ft Washingtonia palms out front were loaded with seed pods and old fronds, and a backyard oak had sucker growth and broken, hanging dead limbs. We trimmed both palms, cleaned the suckers out of the oak, removed the hanging limbs and lightly raised its low branches.

Several sabal, sago and pygmy date palms needed seed pods and old fronds removed, two crepe myrtles had sucker growth, and a magnolia hung too low for the lawn crew. We trimmed the palms, cleaned up the crepe myrtles, raised the magnolia and removed a sago palm from the front beds.

What we see on Winter Garden properties
Winter Garden has two very different kinds of trees. Near downtown and Lake Apopka, older homes sit under big live oaks and laurel oaks. Out in the newer neighborhoods, the trees are younger, planted close to houses and fences, and often outgrowing the space they were given.
Most of our calls here are about trees that have grown too close to the roof, the pool enclosure, the driveway or the road, and palms that need cleaning up. Our ISA Certified Arborist checks a tree before we recommend taking it down, and many only need a good prune.

Call us. Phones are answered 24/7, and we dispatch a crew as availability, weather and safety allow. If anyone is hurt or a tree is on a power line, call 911 and the power company first.
Can you prune young trees so they grow in well?
Yes. Structural pruning on a young tree, removing competing leaders and crossing limbs early, is the cheapest way to avoid big problems later. We follow ANSI A300 pruning standards.
How often should oaks in Winter Garden be trimmed?
Mature live oaks often do well on a 2–3 year pruning cycle. Laurel oaks, which are shorter-lived and more prone to decay, and any tree hanging over a roof may need a look more often.
What’s included in your cleanup?
