Tree care for Christmas properties
A tree over a roof and low branches along an entrance road need different work plans. In Christmas, we look at the route to the tree, the space beneath it and how wood will leave the property before recommending the work.
Kevin’s Tree Service serves Christmas from our Oviedo base. Family-owned in Central Florida since 1987, we provide written estimates for removal, pruning and stump work, backed by general liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
Tree removal in Christmas
For removals near a home, outbuilding or entrance road, we assess the tree and the available working space. Climbing, lift access and crane assistance are options; the method depends on the tree, access and nearby structures.
Our completed Christmas work includes oak and pine removals along a road. Your quote identifies the trees, debris handling and stump finish. A stump cut low to the ground is different from stump grinding, which must be specified separately.
What we assess before removal
- The tree. Condition, size and the space needed to handle sections.
- The surroundings. Buildings, fences, landscaping and any nearby utilities.
- Access. Gate openings, staging space and the route for taking wood out.
- The finish. Debris removal, stump work and any separately scheduled tasks.
Tree trimming and pruning in Christmas
Clearance work starts with what needs to stay accessible: a roof, walkway, parking area or entrance used by larger vehicles. We identify the branches and clearance goals with you, rather than treating the whole canopy the same way.
Our crews follow ANSI A300 pruning standards, with no topping or lion-tailing. For larger properties, mark the trees and areas to include at the estimate so the crew has a clear scope and an agreed route through the site.
Clearance with a plan
Show us the branches or areas that concern you. We identify the pruning priorities with you before work starts: roof clearance, low limbs over a driveway, deadwood or selected limbs that need reducing.
Tell us about nearby service wires at the estimate. Work involving electrical hazards needs assessment and coordination; utility-line work should not be assumed to be included in an ordinary pruning quote.
Building clearance, roadside removals and entrance access
Two completed projects in the Christmas area, October 2024 and May–June 2026, covering trees around buildings, along a road and beside visitor areas.
- Pruning around buildings, walkways and an entrance road
Lift-access work addressed oak and cedar limbs over buildings, deadwood above walkways and parking areas, and branches along the entrance road for larger-vehicle access. Specified removals were included; selected stumps were cut low with no grinding.
Building clearanceLift accessEntrance access - Six oaks and two pines removed along a road
The agreed work removed six oaks and two pine trees along the road, raised remaining branches for roadway clearance and removed dead limbs above picnic tables.

Plan the route as well as the tree work
For Christmas properties, the estimate should cover the entrance, the route to each tree and the room for turning or staging equipment. Tell us about gates, soft ground and any limits on when the site can be accessed.
Point out septic systems, drainfields, wells, irrigation and buried services before equipment enters. If a property remains in use during the work, discuss which parking areas, walkways or entrances need to stay available. Nearby electrical lines require separate assessment and coordination.
Details to cover at the estimate
- Entrance width, gates and turning space
- Buildings, parking areas and walkways
- Septic systems, wells and buried services
- Wood hauling, stump work and the agreed finish
Permit assistance
For properties in unincorporated Orange County, Orange County tree rules apply. Requirements depend on the property and proposed work. HOA requirements are separate. Kevin’s Tree Service can assist with tree removal permit applications when required.

Our own crew and equipment
We own a grapple-saw crane, compact spider lift, chipper and hauling equipment. The setup depends on the tree and the property—not every job needs a crane, and not every yard suits a machine.
For a tree beyond our crane’s reach or capacity, we hire a larger crane from a crane company and include the arrangement in your quote.
Stump grinding, cleanup and arborist services
Stump grinding
Grinding below grade where access and conditions allow. Your quote specifies depth, grindings and scheduling. Grinding does not excavate the full root system.
Stump grinding details →Arborist oversight
ISA Certified Arborist oversight for tree-health and keep-or-remove questions. Formal assessments and letters are separate paid services.
Arborist services →Insured tree crew
General liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Certificates of insurance are available upon request.
Insurance details →Storm response
Phones answered 24/7 for fallen trees and broken limbs. Dispatch depends on crew availability, weather and safe working conditions.
Emergency tree service →A written price for the work you need
Tree size and condition, access, the space beneath the canopy and the amount of cleanup all affect the price. We visit the property and give you a written scope and price rather than guessing from a city-wide price list.
Ask us to separate removal, pruning and stump options if you are deciding what to do first. The estimate should make clear what is included, what stays on site and whether another visit is needed.

Christmas tree service questions
Do you serve both homes and larger properties in Christmas?
Yes. We estimate tree removal and pruning for homes and larger properties in Christmas. The written quote identifies the trees, access, work areas and cleanup included.
Can you prune branches along a long driveway or entrance road?
We assess the trees and discuss the vehicles that need access before quoting clearance work. Tell us about gates, turning space and any areas that must remain open while the crew works.
Can equipment work near a septic system or well?
Point out septic tanks, drainfields, wells, irrigation and buried services at the estimate. We review the access route and staging areas before selecting equipment; access over these features should not be assumed.
Can you help with a Christmas tree removal permit?
Yes. Whether a permit is needed depends on where your property is and on the tree. For properties in unincorporated Orange County, Orange County tree rules apply. Requirements depend on the property and proposed work. Kevin’s Tree Service can assist with tree removal permit applications when required. Certain trees on eligible single-family residential properties may qualify for an exemption under Florida Statute 163.045. Not every tree qualifies, and HOA requirements are separate. Professional arborist assessments and letters are separate paid services.
Does tree removal include stump grinding?
Only when specified in the quote. Cutting a stump low and grinding it below grade are different services. The quote also states whether grindings stay on site or are hauled away.
Do you use your own crew, and are estimates free?
Our own tree crew does the tree work, with ISA Certified Arborist oversight. We own a grapple-saw crane, spider lift and cleanup equipment; a larger crane is hired when needed and included in the quote. Estimates for ordinary tree work are free. Formal arborist assessments and letters are separate paid services.
Do you require a deposit, and when do I pay?
No deposits. You don’t pay until the job is 100% complete and you’re satisfied.
