Tree care for Chuluota properties
A Chuluota job may involve more than the tree beside the house: oaks over the drive, pines near a lanai, old stumps in a pasture and access that needs to stay clear of the septic system. We look at the whole work area before recommending what to prune, what to remove and how to get the equipment in.
Kevin’s Tree Service is based in nearby Oviedo and has served Central Florida since 1987. You work with our own tree crew, backed by general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. We put the trees, access plan and cleanup arrangements in writing so you can compare the work being quoted.
Tree removal in Chuluota
A dead tree behind a garage and a pine beside a screened patio need different removal plans. We consider the tree’s condition, room to lower sections and the route for taking wood out. A climber, spider lift or crane may be appropriate; equipment access is assessed at the estimate.
Removal does not automatically include stump grinding. Your quote will say whether a stump is cut low or ground, whether grindings stay or are hauled, and whether any work needs a separate visit. On a larger property, that keeps a multi-tree project clear from the start.
What we assess before removal
- The tree. Condition, size and the space needed to handle sections.
- The surroundings. Buildings, fences, landscaping and any nearby utilities.
- Access. Gate openings, staging space and the route for taking wood out.
- The finish. Debris removal, stump work and any separately scheduled tasks.
Tree trimming and pruning in Chuluota
Many trees can stay with the right pruning. We remove deadwood, reduce selected limbs reaching toward roofs, and raise low branches where clearance is needed over a driveway or yard. The aim is useful clearance while keeping an appropriate canopy—not cutting every tree back to the same outline.
Our crews follow ANSI A300 pruning standards, with no topping or lion-tailing. We can include palm cleanup and pruning of smaller landscape trees in the same written scope. If a tree has cracks, crown decline or other concerns, our ISA Certified Arborist helps guide the keep-or-remove decision.
Clearance with a plan
Show us the branches or areas that concern you. We identify the pruning priorities with you before work starts: roof clearance, low limbs over a drive, deadwood or selected limbs that need reducing.
Tell us about nearby service wires at the estimate. Work involving electrical hazards needs assessment and coordination; utility-line work should not be assumed to be included in an ordinary pruning quote.

PruningRemovalStump grinding - Three pines removed beside a lanai

Pine removalLift accessCleanup - Declining laurel oaks removed; other trees retained
Two laurel oaks with crown dieback and recorded cracking were removed. Four other oaks were pruned for house and yard clearance, and a blue jacaranda received roof-clearance and deadwood pruning. Stumps were cut low; grinding was not included.

Planning tree work around yards, pastures and septic systems
Chuluota includes neighborhood homes as well as more open properties. Extra land does not mean every part of the yard is safe for a machine. At the walkthrough, point out the septic tank, drainfield, irrigation, gates, buried services and any ground you want kept clear.
We agree on the access and staging areas, where wood can be placed and what needs protecting. If you want chips left for your own use, ask for that in the quote. If the plan includes hauling stump grindings, that should be written down too.
Details to cover at the estimate
- Access through gates and along the driveway
- Septic and drainfield locations identified before equipment work
- Clearance around roofs, lanais, sheds and fences
- Separate instructions for chips, logs and stump grindings
Permit assistance
Chuluota is unincorporated, so Seminole County tree rules usually apply. HOA requirements are separate. Kevin’s Tree Service can assist with tree removal permit applications when required.

Our own crew and equipment
We own a grapple-saw crane, compact spider lift, chipper and hauling equipment. The setup depends on the tree and the property—not every job needs a crane, and not every yard suits a machine.
For a tree beyond our crane’s reach or capacity, we hire a larger crane from a crane company and include the arrangement in your quote.
Stump grinding, cleanup and arborist services
Stump grinding
Grinding below grade where access and conditions allow. Your quote specifies depth, grindings and scheduling. Grinding does not excavate the full root system.
Stump grinding details →Arborist oversight
ISA Certified Arborist oversight for tree-health and keep-or-remove questions. Formal assessments and letters are separate paid services.
Arborist services →Insured tree crew
General liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Certificates of insurance are available upon request.
Insurance details →Storm response
Phones answered 24/7 for fallen trees and broken limbs. Dispatch depends on crew availability, weather and safe working conditions.
Emergency tree service →A written price for the work you need
Tree size and condition, access, the space beneath the canopy and the amount of cleanup all affect the price. We visit the property and give you a written scope and price rather than guessing from a city-wide price list.
Ask us to separate removal, pruning and stump options if you are deciding what to do first. The estimate should make clear what is included, what stays on site and whether another visit is needed.

Chuluota tree service questions
Can you combine tree removal and trimming in one Chuluota visit?
Yes. We can quote removal, pruning, palm work and stump grinding together. The written scope identifies each tree, the access needed and what happens to the wood and grindings. Some work, including stump grinding, may need a separate visit.
Can equipment work around a septic tank or drainfield?
We plan access around the locations you identify at the estimate. Tell us about the septic tank, drainfield, irrigation and buried services before equipment is brought in. The setup depends on the property and the work required.
Will you haul the wood, chips and stump grindings?
Your quote specifies the cleanup. We can price hauling or an agreed cut-and-leave arrangement. Stump grinding and hauling grindings are separate scope items; neither should be assumed from a tree-removal price alone.
Do I need a tree removal permit in Chuluota?
It depends on where your property is and on the tree. Chuluota is unincorporated, so Seminole County tree rules usually apply. Kevin’s Tree Service can assist with tree removal permit applications when required. Certain trees on eligible single-family residential properties may qualify for an exemption under Florida Statute 163.045. Not every tree qualifies, and HOA requirements are separate. Professional arborist assessments and letters are separate paid services.
Are estimates free?
Yes. Estimates for tree removal, trimming and stump grinding are free, with a written price and scope. A formal arborist assessment or letter is a separate paid service.
Do you use your own crew?
Our own tree crew does the tree work. We own a grapple-saw crane, spider lift and cleanup equipment. When a job needs a larger crane, we hire one from a crane company and include that arrangement in the quote.
Can I call after a storm?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crew dispatch depends on availability, weather and safety. For an immediate danger to people or a tree involving a power line, contact emergency services and the utility first.
