Most removals we do in Winter Springs aren’t open-field jobs. The tree is usually beside the house, leaning over a lanai, or growing into a neighbor’s oak, and often it’s a laurel oak with decay at the base or a pine that died after a dry spring. Each one gets a plan for how the wood comes down, where it lands and how equipment gets to it before anyone starts a saw.

When removal is the right call
- The tree is dead or dying. Dead pines and oaks get brittle quickly and shouldn’t be climbed, so we use our grapple-saw truck or a lift where we can.
- Decay at the base or a split trunk. Cavities, fungus at the root flare, cracks in the trunk or a co-dominant split that’s opening up.
- Storm damage that can’t be pruned out. A trunk broken in half, a top that has failed, or a lean that got worse after a storm.
- The wrong tree in the wrong place. Camphors and other fast growers pushing into the roof, a better tree or the foundation.

- Three front-yard oaks, crane-assisted
Oaks of 24, 17 and 10 inches standing close to the front of the house. Sections were lifted out and set down in a clear area instead of being lowered over the roof. Stumps ground and grindings hauled.
- Two camphors over the roof and into a live oak
One camphor hung over the front corner of the house and the other was growing into a live oak. Both removed and stumps ground. Broken limbs hanging in the live oak came out on the same visit.
- Oak broken in half
An 18-inch oak snapped mid-trunk. We removed the standing half, the fallen top and a hanging limb, ground the stump, then pruned five more oaks over the yard and drive and ground eight old stumps.
- Fallen tree hung up over a creek
A tree had fallen into the surrounding canopy where no equipment could reach. A climber cut it free with ropes, pulleys and rigging, and the sections were lowered and moved across the creek.
- 28-inch pine near high-voltage lines
A large pine beside a driveway with power lines close by. It came down crane-assisted so sections could be lifted clear of the lines, and the stump was ground and the grindings hauled.
- Frost-killed Norfolk Island pines
A three-trunk Norfolk Island pine and a second one at a street corner, both killed by frost. Removed, cut low to the ground and all debris hauled away.

Climber, lift or crane?
We pick the method for each tree, not one method for every job.
- Climbing and rigging: for trees we can’t reach with equipment, like along a back property line where roots of nearby oaks need protecting.
- Our CMC 72HD spider lift: for backyard trees over pool cages and lanais. It’s tracked and fits through many gates a truck can’t.
- Our Fassi 390 grapple-saw crane: for dead or hazardous trees reachable from the street or driveway. It holds each piece while it’s cut.
- A hired larger crane: for very large trees or long reaches. We arrange it and include it in your quote before the job is booked.
Stumps and cleanup
Stump grinding can go on the same quote. We grind roughly 4–12 inches below grade, depending on roots and site conditions, and can chase surface roots in beds. Choose whether the grindings are hauled away (best before new sod) or left for your beds.

Winter Springs permits
Inside city limits, the City of Winter Springs generally requires an arbor permit before a tree is removed, including on single-family lots, and that applies to dead trees too.
