Do I need a permit to trim trees in Winter Springs?

How much clearance should I keep over my roof?

How often should I trim my oaks?
Live oaks often do well on a 2–3 year cycle for light structural and clearance work. Laurel oaks and trees over a roof may need a look more often.
Should I have the Spanish moss removed?
Moss doesn’t kill a tree, but heavy moss adds weight and shades the interior. We can lighten it as part of a prune. On recent jobs we’ve taken out roughly half or more from the center of the canopy.
Can you fix bad cuts from a previous trimmer?
Often, yes. We clean up stubs and improper cuts back to proper pruning points so the tree can seal the wounds. Topped or lion-tailed trees take a few pruning cycles to recover.
How should palms be trimmed?
To the look you want. We remove seed pods and dead or hanging fronds, and recommend keeping enough healthy green fronds. A common target is removing fronds outside the 10-to-2 position.
